Latest News

On the 15th of September 2011 members of the committee met and the following is an outline of discussion and outcomes on behalf of our members.

General items

  • Maddie Blackburn, Head of Childrens Hospices UK -CHUK discussed the role of children hospice services. The similarities and differences to adult Hospice at Home services were discussed. With the emerging issues of transitional care CHUK would like to work with NAHH and possibly become a sub group.

  • The Chair and Vice Chair are to present the NAHH work on standards at the Help the Hospice conference in Bournemouth September 2011.

  • The committee have been preparing a brief for Help the Hospices Clinical Lead Heather Richardson to help establish a nationally agreed definition of what a Hospice at Home actually entails.

Website

       
  • The committee reviewed drafts for our new website, examples of which will available at our conference.
  • Its is hoped the new website will be more user friendly and reflect the role of the Association.

Conference 2011

  • Title; Adapting H@H in the new health market, developing  quality, value and cost effectiveness in services.
  • Places are still available and the association is subsidising the cost for this two day event, November 10th and 11th in Liverpool.
  • Details were finalised for the workshops to continue the work on development of the NAHH standards.
  • Don't forget the conference also includes our AGM for member organisations!  

 Standards Progress

  • Further work has been produced, and a preliminary draft document has been circulated to workshop attendees. Further to presentation at the Help the Hospices conference in September, George Bell, Head of Education Help the Hospices will be leading further development of this work at our conference in November.
