John Hunt

John Hunt (RN) is a member of the National Forum for Hospice at Home Services Executive Committee.

Current Role: Director of Care Services Development, The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House, Snettisham, Norfolk.

John has 30 years of experience in Hospice, Palliative and Cancer care, as a clinician, clinical and service manager and consultant to hospices and related organisations for development and change management of services, roles, people and policy.

John  has a national and international reputation in quality assurance for hospice and palliative care services; leading the Trent Hospice Audit Group ((THAG) in the production of standards and audit tools; writing, lecturing, and facilitation of workshops on quality and clinical governance. He led the development of the NFFH@H Audit Tool.

Elected to the NFFH@H executive in March 2009, John’s interest in hospice at home is rooted in his belief in enabling and supporting the preferred place of care and death for people with chronic progressive illnesses and ensuring, as much as is possible, that families and significant others are cared for as they meet the needs of the sick person. John has been involved in two hospice at home projects and, in his current role, is leading work on developing the appropriate model of home hospice support for a large area of rural Norfolk.
