My current role is Clinical Service Manager for Hospice at Home West Cumbria, a post I have held since 2003. Hospice at Home West Cumbria was one of the first established Hospice at Home services in the UK and has affectionately known as the 'Hospice without Walls'.

I have worked as a qualified nurse for over 25 years, primarily in community services and always with a keen interest in palliative care. I qualified as a District Nurse in 1999 and very quickly took up a post of Macmillian Clinical Nurse Specialist.

As a founder member of Hospice at Home West Cumbria I am passionate about service development and service delivery and strive to continue our charity ethos that all 'Hospice' services are available to the people of West Cumbria in their own homes and communities.

I joined the forum committee in September 2009 and hope to bring my knowledge and experience to the forum. Together with Forum Chair Sue Varvel I have very recently completed the first MA in Hospice Leadership at Lanchaster University.
